1: What worked well
The idea of our group was to film a story about ‘the art of moving images’, record different aspects of filmmaking and cinema in multiple forms of media such as written articles and videos. After deciding this idea, our members worked together to find the respondents and set the specific interview time with the respondents and developed a promising plan to achieve our goals. So I think team communication and cooperation play very important roles in the success of our group work. Based on our team cooperation and individual talents, we assign tasks to the member who is the best fit for that task and we are always open to all members for their opinions and suggestion, which leads everyone to contribute the best to our group goals. Thomas was selected as the group leader by the most supports.
2. What didn’t work
When I considered this question again, I thought of an accident during shooting. I needed to make a speech when we filmed a story about our group, I was so nervous that I couldn't make the speech smoothly and perfectly. So I can’t focus on shooting that day and forgot to set camera as recording mode when we were filming, this delayed our shooting progress and even wasted a good video taken by our team members. Although team members comforted me and said everyone makes some mistakes and it does not matter. But I knew there are something I can do better, like I should be more prepared with my speech before shooting, I should be more confident of myself and be more concentrated when doing group filming. I believe I learnt my lesson from my mistake this time and I felt really grateful to have these great groupmates.
3. What were you happy with
I am very happy to be able to do viral marketing work in the group. During my college years, I often did some food-related work and did not have the opportunity to do film-related work. Fortunately, I finally had the opportunity to discover the film-related work during this group filming. I faced some difficulties but I never think about giving up. I feel very interesting and curious about any unknown areas and always read to explore more in filming. I am very happy that I can know more about the film field because I have done this work. Moreover, I really enjoyed working with my great groupmates from filming to editing, which gives me a lot of good experience and memories of this filming.
4. What weren’t you happy with
Due to my job is about media strategy,I didn’t participate directly in editing a part. I admired my team members can talk about unique ideas and use lots of effects on our video, the good sound, good background to make our video better. It’s a little bit difficult for me to imagine the words and sound together before I can see the final video. When they finish our video, I felt so proud of my groupmates and wished if I can do the same. Due to I did not fully understand editing part, when I wrote my summary of film viral marketing, I misunderstood the meaning, I just wrote what I thought steps should be to introduce the film market. What I did do well is I did not communicate with my team mates clearly when I was sure about something, which leads me to a mistake and wasted group time to fix it later.
5 How did research help you develop your concept and strategies
At first, my personal proposal was to analyze film marking and how to push the films. Secondly, we talk about the different aspects of social account, we make many examples, such as influential web blogger. My favorite social platform is called FilmUp.co in Instagram. I have followed it for several years and I can learn some technical skills through its daily updates.

6 What do you wish you researched more
According to “In a doctoral thesis, claims of originality and contribution to knowledge may be demonstrated through creative outcomes in the form of designs, music, digital media, performances and exhibitions”. Research can help us to have a basis in the process of practice and save a lot of time. We can also confirm results of research through practice. This process can be expressed in the form of media. Especially, Video is dynamic and reflect the trend of things changing, including more information. These are images that cannot be done. We choose to shoot videos to deliver more direct and real ideas to the audiences. In our group, my part is to analyze viral marketing of movies, I look for lots of movies and pick out the most influential and representative cases, such as Toy Story 3,The Blair Witch and Star Wars. These masterpieces allow me to understand better of the impact of viral marketing.
7 What mistakes did you make
I was nervous to communicate with group members because I was confident of my English speaking, so I sometimes misunderstood the meaning. It is my first time to do group assessment, my group members Thomas, Kingsley and Alice, they all helped me a lot. I will need to improve my communication skills in group work. I also will try to practice my speaking with classmates so I can get the points better in next group workshop.
8: What would you do differently
Actually, I want to try some different media work in the different ways. Setting up a public account to record natural sound and video, go outside to shoot the animals like birds or some insects. Then I also want to try to edit videos into a short film to gives audience various feelings based on different purposes, such us relaxing feeling for people who need to relieve stress, happy feeling for people who need to brighter their lives.
9: How was it working collaboratively
Thomas is responsible for the production of the website, and Kingsley and Yuan are responsible for the shooting, and Alice is responsible for dubbing the video. I am responsible for make sure the right location.During the post-editing work, our whole team participated in the editing.
10: Are you happy with what you produced?
I am very happy with we have discovered, learnt and achieved in this filming. I reinforced my filming skills by both my hardworking and groupmates’ help. I became more confident when I work with other team mates. And I am very looking forward to my next filming task, group task.
